Winning Video Poker

There is a big difference when you play Video Poker than Bodog poker, some people play with strategy and some players play with luck. The numbers in the Video Poker Machines are governed by RNG which means Random Number Generator. The RNG has millions of winning and non winning combinations programmed into the system. But don’t us wrong, there is still luck and strategy involved in this game. The combinations that are available come from the statistics from the deck of 52 cards. The odds are the same if you sat down and played a physical hand of poker. The odds are not in your favor then and they would not be in the casinos. The Royal Flush is the best of the best; you cannot get any higher than that hand. The chances of hitting that hand are 1 in 649,740 hands of Poker.

Luck happens when you get an automatic hand that you can win with. Strategy works because you are allowed to discard a card. This changes the hand as well as the odds. You may be lucky enough to have a Three of a Kind and you want to increase your payout. Maybe you are trying to get that winning hand, remember you can keep as many cards as you want and get rid of as many as you want.

Strategy will depend also on what machine you are playing. If you are playing Jacks or Better you would use one strategy and if you were playing Deuces Wild then you would use an entirely different strategy. There are two kinds if strategies, the basic and the optimal. Most players if they are beginners will stick with the basic strategy and the players who are a bit more experienced will use an optimal strategy to get a better payout.

Playing Poker at the table or playing Video Poker, you have the same odds, if not better on the video poker because you are playing you and the machine as opposed to playing you and other players at the table. There are different ways to play, the strategies are no different then the rest. But if you can follow these simple rules you may come away a winner.

1- Play carefully, read your cards, take your time. You are playing against the machine so there is no hurry.
2- The machines have no memory, so the last hand that was played has nothing to do with the hand you are playing.
3- Always play your hunches, even the best player’s play with strategies. Some players play strictly on hunches. It is ok to do that sometimes hunches pay off.
4- Always know the pay tables. If you understand the pay tables, the more you understand the better player you will be and the more you can increase your winnings.

The Jacks or Better 9/6 has a payout of 99 percent, Jacks or Better 8/5 has a payout of 97 percent and Jacks or Better 6/5 has a payout of 95 percent.
